The latest version of the print manual is based on version 4.5 of the Compressed HTML Help, which is/was only available to Microsoft employees and partners. The book+CD-ROM version includes digital copies of the Microsoft Computer Dictionary and Microsoft Encyclopedia of Networking.

More information online: Version 3 of the Compressed HTML Help version of the manual was offered as a free download by Microsoft when it was initially released. They've since removed the download from their site but it is still available for download from the personal site of a German technical writer (note: clicking that link will start the download of the actual .chm file).
